[Star Trek] Movie: Romulan Ale, Captain!

After not touching my completed meshes for years, I finally had time to do something usefull with them. My latest Star Trek cgi animation features all of my favorite ship designs, like the Defiant, Sovereign, Akira or Valdore. For the first part I got inspired by Star Trek Nemesis, the second part is entirely original.
All modeling, texturing, lighting, animation and editing work is done by myself over a span of approx. 6 months. No plugins of any kind used.

Modeling, Animation & Rendering (Standard Scanline Renderer): 3ds max 2010
Textures: Photoshop CS 5
Editing: Premiere Elements 9
Soundtrack: Two Steps From Hell - Invincible

Video stats: 1280x720 progressive (720p HD), h.264, 25fps, 2:56min
Audio stats: MPEG-4 AAC 48kHz Stereo

No proper soundeffects, because I don't have the necessary resources. If someone wants to help me out here, drop me a line. Watch in HD if you can!

Wallpapers coming up next!

[Update 04.08.2010] Work In Progress: Norexan

Update 04.08.2010:
Here is a quick heads-up on the current state of this project. I finished texturing and lighting a while ago and went straight to the next stage: A movie featuring not only this baby, but a lot of my other models as well. It's similar to Among Wolves, although not a sequel (as initially planned) because I want to do a different story now. Stay tuned on this one.
Because of that, there wont be wallpapers of the Norexan/Valdore any time soon. But I promise there will be even more pretty stuff to look at as soon as the animation is finished.

Finished textures and lighting.

Fedcon 2009 Opening Animation by Tobias Richter

Amazing piece of work by Tobias Richter of The Light Works for Fedcon 2009 scifi convention. Love it.

[Update] Movies: Among Wolves

I finally managed to upload my first movie "Among Wolves". As mentioned a few days earlier, I did this back in 2002 as a tribute to "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine".

[Star Trek] Legacy Class MK2 by Dimitri/Galen

So I just stumbled over this beautiful mesh over at scifi-meshes.com. The original design of the Legacy Class is by Galen (DK Design) and used as reference by Dimitri for modeling. Its obviously not finished yet, but so far it looks stunning. Pay a visit to the work in progress thread over at scifi-meshes.com if you'd like to comment on it or follow his work.

One more picture after the break.
